| 11/25/2007 - "Up with People" will be performing as part of a fundraiser to benefit the following organizations:
Somerset Hills Board of Education Up With People is a global education program for young people between the ages of 18 and 29. As participants they travel throughout the world in 6 months, staying with host families, participating in meaningful service projects, following a global education curriculum and performing a musical show. They performed at the Thanksgiving Day parade in NYC and will be performing on the Today show, Good Morning America, and the United Nations. Performances are on Saturday, December 1st at 3:00 pm and 7:30 pm at the NEW Bernards High School Auditorium. | 11/24/2007 - It is with sadness that the Bernardsville Fire Company reports the passing of John "Jack" S. Foote, Jr. Jack passed away on Saturday, November 24. Jack was a member of the Bernardsville Fire Company since 1943. He was a long-time Chaplain of the fire company and also held the title of Chaplain Emeritus since he became ill. Jack held various line and executive officer posts, including Captain of the First Aid Squad. He was also a life member of the NJ State Firemen's Association.
Arrangements are as follows: Viewing: Friday, November 30 at Galloway and Crane Funeral Home in Basking Ridge from 2:00-4:00 and again at 7:00-9:00. The funeral will be on Saturday, December 1 at 10am at the First Presbyterian Church on Route 202, Bernardsville. | |

 2007 Santa Run - Drop off your gifts at the firehouse on Sunday, December 16th between 10:00am and 12:00pm or Tuesday, December 18th between 7:00pm and 9:00pm. Delivery to your home will be on Saturday, December 22nd.

| 11/12/07 - At approximately, 1:35pm the fire company was dispatched to a report of a pickup truck on fire on Minebrook Road/Old Quarry Rd. Upon arrival, responding units found the cab of the truck fully involved. Firefighters moved quickly to extinguish the fire and there was no damage to the equipment on the trailer. Responding to the scene were 22-103, 22-102, 22-135, 22-175 and 22-10. | |

 11/11/07 - The Bernardsville Fire Company hosted the 2007 Veteran's Day flag burning ceremony for the Bernardsville Chapter of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. The memorial event was held at 11:00 a.m. beginning with a single blow of the fire whistle to commemorate Veteran's Day. Following the whistle, members of the Bernardsville Chapter of the VFW recited a beautiful reading describing the meaning of each aspect of the Flag of the United States of America. After the beautiful commemoration of the flag, the old and tattered flags brought to the firehouse from residents, VFW members and members of the fire company were ceremoniously burned to the playing of "Taps."
The Bernardsville Fire Company honors our local veterans and all veterans from past wars and conflicts. We also honor those Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines who are currently serving overseas and those who made the ultimate sacrifice defending our Nation and our Freedom. |
