Bernardsville Fire Company No. 1
5/15/07 - Station 22 received a request for mutual aid from Liberty Corner Fire Department in response to a tractor trailer fire on Rt. 78. 22-135 and 22-102 responded with a total of 8 firefighters. 22-135 provided water to 40-102 while 22-102 set up a fill site on Martinsville Road.

The Bernardsville Fire Company and First Aid Squad is upgrading its communications equipment to better serve our community. This change does not affect our 9-1-1 emergency service.

However, it does mean that, as of May 15, 2007, alarm and medic-alert companies should no longer use the Bernardsville Police Department number in the event of an alarm activation.

If you use a medic-alert device or a fire alarm company to protect your home or business: Please contact your alarm company TODAY! Make sure they call 908-766-1781 only in the event of an alarm activation. If they use any other number, there will be a delay in our response while the call is routed to the proper dispatch center.

REMEMBER:

In any Emergency (fire, rescue, first aid or police), Bernardsville residents, workers and visitors should call 9-1-1 at all times. For fire and medic-alert alarms, monitoring companies should call 908.766-1781.

If you have any questions, please feel free to call the fire company's non-emergency business line at 908-766-6625 and leave a message for Fire Chief Chuck Ferrante or First Aid Captain John Orfan.
