| 8/3/07 - At approximately 10:45pm, the fire company and rescue squad were dispatched to mutliple calls in the borough. While responding, an additional alarm was received reporting a lightning strike to the roof of a home on Ballantine Rd. The first arriving unit, 22-102, reported flames showing on the roof. The crew from 22-103 advanced a hand line into the residence and up to the attic level while crews from 22-104 and 22-102 provided additional water and manpower. Mendham Borough, Far Hills-Bedminster, New Vernon and Liberty Corner responded to a call for mutual aid. After locating the fire on the roof of the home, crews worked quickly to contain and extinguish the fire. After completing salvage and overhaul, Station 22 was back at headquarters at approximately 2:00am. | |
